Jon Barr

I spent the early part of my career working at director level within a multinational distribution business and with GE. 

I have a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, I am an NLP Master Practitioner and Certified in Roche Martin Emotional Intelligence. 

In 2005, I stepped away from corporate life to establish my own business, with a clear aim: to translate corporate-level commercial thinking and academic business theory into practical, usable methods for small to medium-sized, privately owned businesses. 

That business grew rapidly, driven by the success of its clients and a direct, honest, results-focused approach. 

In 2013, I decided to apply the same principles to my own organisation and founded ACS Performance which has since grown into a highly successful recruitment business, now working with over 600 blue-chip clients across the UK. 

Building ACS Performance was never about creating another business that relied on me. The objective was to create a profitable, well-structured organisation with a capable management team and systems that allowed it to operate without my day-to-day involvement. 

Today, that objective has been achieved. The business is stable, profitable, and run independently, which has allowed me to step back operationally. 

During this period as a business we have continued to help local businesses with specialists in executive coaching and leadership team development but my personal customer involvement has been scaled down to focus on the recruitment business. 

Having proven these principles in my own business, I am now refocusing my time on working directly with business owners again. I work with owners who want genuine choices: to step away from the day-to-day, to build and trust a leadership team, to pass the business on to family members, to reinvest their time into a new area of growth, or to position the business as a true asset that is ultimately sellable. There are no slogans, gimmicks, or theoretical systems. 

What I offer is practical, honest support based on lived experience, the collective successes and methods developed over more than 20 years of working with business owners, and a fresh, external perspective. Just as importantly, I provide a confidential, trusted relationship, someone you can speak to openly and honestly, while we work shoulder to shoulder to get your business to where you want it to be.
